Travel is the ultimate agent of soft power. Especially travel to experience other cultural environments to learn and experience more traditional ways of life. It enhances socio-cultural cooperation by creating citizen-to-citizen interactions that lead to greater understanding and appreciation of cultural nuances. But we must be mindful that for all the good travel can do, it can also result in diminished natural resources, increased social disruption, and major infrastructure and/or cost of living increases.
